What to Expect After the Initial Consultation
At Tuckahoe Family Chiropractic we don’t make any initial adjustments until after we have been able to make an accurate assessment of your current condition. To do this, we will run various exams, and possibly take an X-ray, if needed. Depending on your individual circumstance, to determine the exact underlying cause of your problem, the medical examination may include orthopedic, chiropractic, neurological, as wells physical tests. An X-ray can show if you have any disc degeneration, osteoarthritis, where there may be any pressure on your nerves, and exactly what your spinal alignment looks like. The fee for these exams will vary based on how many are needed and whether X-rays were required.

At Tuckahoe Family Chiropractic we also use the latest computerized technology to see your nerves as they exit your spine and go to your muscles and internal organs, and how well they are communicating with your central nervous system.

Surface Electromyogram
A surface electromyogram will measure the electrical energy that comes from your nerves as they exit out of the spine and go to the muscles.
Infrared Scan
The infrared scan looks at the nerves that come out and go to your internal organs. The infrared scan looks at the sympathetic system, the autonomic nervous system, and the parasympathetic system that controls your organs.
Based on the results of your consultation and exams, we are now ready to make the necessary adjustments to relieve your pain and correct the source of your problem. Chiropractic adjustments are gentle corrections that move your spine back into proper alignment so you get relief from pain, and your body is allowed to heal.

After we review the results of your exams, and X-rays (if taken), we will be able to put together a plan of action to restore your health.

What Happens Next?
We arrange for your first adjustment, after which your chiropractor will setup a schedule for any necessary follow up appointments. Chiropractic care has 3 main phases: Correct, Restore & Maintain. First, Correct the underlying cause of your problem. Then Restore the natural health, wellness, and function of your body. And finally we use chiropractic care to maintain your spine and your health.
